At James River Armory, we specialize in the manufacture of competition grade Civil War muzzle loading muskets. Our firearms are designed to provide match grade accuracy for competitions hosted by:
- The North-South Skirmish Association
- The National Rifle Association
- The National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association
We have developed two basic series of these muskets:
Re-manufactured Italian muskets, and reproductions of rare Civil War musket originals.
Re-manufactured Italian Muskets:
These match-grade muskets are N-SSA approved for competition. We re-manufacture the Italian musket reproductions, improving the musket by:
- Hoyt machine shop cut, multi groove rifling
- Creating a re-contoured stock with period appropriate styling, and hand-rubbed oil finish
- Adding a dove-tailed match front sight
Our re-manufactured firearms are an exceptional value, providing a competitive firearm at a very reasonable price. All of these rifles are N-SSA approved.
Civil War James River Musket Reproductions:
Our reproductions of rare Civil War muskets are produced at our factory to very exacting standards. We utilize N-SSA specification sheets to ensure that these firearms will meet their small arms committee approval.
